Asia's top amusement parks
Should you be visiting Asia for pleasure or you are based in the region with your family, a recent article on Forbes.com that listed Asia's top amusement parks is well worth reading. According to Forbes, the following are Asia's top theme parks based on attendance figures:
- Universal Studios in Singapore
- Everland in Seoul
- Ocean Park in Hong Kong
- Happy Valley in Shenzhen
- Sea World Gold Coast, Queensland
- Sunway Lagoon in Petaling Jaya (Malaysia)
- Essel World in Mumbai
- Disneyland in Tokyo
- Dunia Fantasi in Jakarta
- Lac Cahn Dai Nam Van Hien in Ho Chi Minh City
- Siam Park City in Bangkok
- Janfusun Fancyworld in Douliu (Taiwan)
However, don’t expect to have any of the above theme parks to yourself during a visit as according to the article, members of Asia’s growing and increasingly affluent middle class are flooding these 12 popular theme park destinations. In fact, it was noted that PricewaterhouseCoopers has predicted that Asia’s amusement park market will be worth nearly US$8.5 billion by 2012 - up from US$6.4 billion in 2007.
